Dr. James Yarger, PhD, is co-founder of ENDECE™ LLC with his business partner and spouse, Jean Yarger, Chief Administrative Officer for the company. Each brings decades of scientific and professional business operations experience to their new endeavors in drug discovery at ENDECE.
The Yargers have brought a passion to their innovative business ventures in pharmaceuticals. Their mutual respect, commitment and collaboration have led to the success of two companies, ENDECE and Cedarburg Pharmaceuticals.
In 1997, the Yargers co-founded Cedarburg Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and built it into a major manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients. In June of 2006, the Yargers resigned their positions at Cedarburg Pharmaceuticals to co-found ENDECE and have brought their same enthusiasm for advancing human health to the company.

Over his career, Dr. Yarger developed the proprietary concepts that form the basis of ENDECE LLC.
As President and CEO of Cedarburg Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Yarger was responsible for the scientific strategy, business development, FDA and DEA compliance, and audits (including FDA inspections) that led to the company’s outstanding growth. He raised all capital (over $15 million) and designed and built the Cedarburg Pharmaceutical research and manufacturing facility.
Dr. Yarger holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from Brandeis University and is a Post-doctoral Fellow at Harvard. He is author of 12 scientific publications and 17 published scientific abstracts, and holds eight awarded or filed patents.
Dr. Yarger began his career with Miles Laboratories, Inc. (Bayer, AG) where he managed a research group responsible for cloning, expression and secretion of foreign genes in yeast and aspergillus. This research resulted in the identification of novel yeast transcription terminators and mechanisms of promoter regulation in yeast. This work was part of the team effort to develop and commercialize the genetically engineered drug, Aprotinin.
Dr. Yarger then took a position with Amoco BioProducts Corporation, where he was responsible for regulatory affairs. Dr. Yarger managed a research group responsible for the synthesis of vitamin D analogs and carotenoids through metabolic engineering, cloning and expression of multiple homologous and heterologous genes in yeast and E. coli This work led to the patenting and commercialization of a vitamin D analog, 25-hydoxy vitamin D3 (Hy.D.). While at Amoco, he also wrote and filed a GRAS petition with the FDA.

Jean Yarger
Ms. Jean Yarger brings administrative experience to ENDECE that has earned her the respect of her colleagues. In addition to running ENDECE business administration operations, she is a successful author of “Mornings With Jenkins, The Tale of a Successful Organization.”
As Chief Administrative Officer, Ms. Yarger is responsible for all business administration, strategic development, financial administration, and corporate policy and procedure for ENDECE LLC. Ms. Yarger brings with her an outstanding professional track record in business operations.
Ms. Yarger’s accomplishments at Cedarburg Pharmaceuticals include:
· Regulatory/quality control
· Initiation of the company’s risk management initiatives
· Purchase and installation of all office and communication equipment
· Writing/implementation of all initial standard operating procedures for production, shipping and receiving
Ms. Yarger holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa.
