Drug Pipeline - Promising New Drug Compounds Advance via BioSwitch™ Concept
The lead compounds at ENDECE are predicted to be effective in treating a number of human cancers, and have stopped the growth in-vitro of cancers of the brain (glioma), lung, pancreas, and ovary. The five year survival rates for ovary and brain cancers are less than 45 percent and the survival rates for lung and pancreas cancers are less than 16 percent.
Studies are continuing to more fully expose our lead compounds' multiple mechanisms of action. ENDECE research has yielded substantive knowledge about their mechanisms of action and how they bind with receptors. Indicating more than one mechanism of action, the studies provide confidence that the company's lead drugs will be effective while minimizing the body's ability to build resistance to them. We are confirming that the lead compounds are effective in-vivo.
ENDECE has manufacturing and analytical methods in place for the lead compounds. The company is on target to file its first IND and initiating Phase I human clinical trials in 2010.
